With unemployment rising in Scotland, this could have considerable implications for the implementation of the local employability strategy since marginalised groups traditionally fare worst in a slackening labour market when they are competing with individuals who are ‘nearer the job market’.
Services will also be developed to assist those nearer the job market, including the many professionals who have recently been made redundant as the implications of the recent recession continues to bite.
The East Renfrewshire Employability Strategy has been developed with a wide range of partners to tackle these issues and is closely linked to our Single Outcome Agreement (SOA). It provides the council, the Local Employability Partnership (LEP) and it’s community planning partners with a framework to drive and improve employability services and to provide support to residents and employers throughout East Renfrewshire. The Employability Strategy can be found here.
