Heron Bros has been awarded the contract to deliver East Renfrewshire Council’s Early Learning Expansion 2020 which is a five-project framework. The new-build facilities, three of which will operate as family centres providing childcare for 50 weeks of the year, are planned to be open by August 2020. Each project comprises of the design and build of a new-build Nursery together with all associated external works.


In addition to the new Crookfur Family Centre, early years facilities will also be built at Overlee Park, a replacement for Glenwood Family Centre on an adjacent site, and two new extended nurseries within the grounds of Busby and Eaglesham primaries.


We are currently recruiting for Site Labourers (10 month contracts) for the following sites:

  • Eaglesham Primary – Eaglesham
  • Busby Primary School – Busby
  • Glenwood Family Centre – Giffnock


Job Summary

Heron Bros are working on new build nurseries across the East Renfrewshire area and are currently recruiting for Site Operators.


This role includes the following duties:

  • To undertake physical labour
  • To operate tools and equipment as required
  • To clean and prepare for various site activities
  • To assist other site staff as required
  • To ensure work is performed safely, on-schedule and in accordance with quality standards
  • To work in accordance with company IMS standards
  • To undertake other tasks as and when required


Experience required:

Previous construction related experience an advantage


Skills, abilities and personal qualities:

Qualifications necessary: A valid CSCS Card or equivalent

Skills necessary: Good  numeracy, literacy and communication skills with fluent English language
