|Programme Outline:||Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire (VAER) is the Third Sector Interface (TSI) and the Centre for Collective Impact. Our emphasis is on engaging local people and partner agencies to work collaboratively for change.
Community participation is at the heart of VAER. No single individual or organisation can do this work alone – Government, non-profits, businesses and community members need to collaborate to achieve lasting change.
By participating and volunteering people are able to actively contribute to their communities. Doing so can raise their self-esteem, skills and knowledge. It can offer realistic insights into career opportunities and build direct and indirect employability skills such as time management and team work. It increases a sense of connectedness, reduces isolation and positively impacts on wellbeing.
|Additional Information:||There are many different ways for people to get involved and any of the VAER staff can help find suitable placements.
