Programme Outline: Made up of five components for indoor and practical experience – Health and Well-Being (Emotional, Physical, Nutritional, Social and Cultural); Employability Skills (CV Building, Interview Skills, Body Language, Job Searching, Application Forms, Career Management Skills, My WOW); Certificate of Work Readiness (Practical Workplace Skills, Responsibilities of Employment, Dealing with Work Situations, Personal Development, Customer Service); Leadership (Peer Mentoring, Team Building, Working Effectively with Others, Developing Young Leaders, Lead or Be Lead, Employer Masterclass); Industry (CSCS test and card, Practical Work Experience, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Working at Heights, Asbestos Awareness, Industry Awareness) CSCS, 1 day H&S, Vehicle Marshal, Cat & Genny, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, Abrasive Wheels, Confined Space Awareness, Manual Handling.
Practical work experience; Various construction related and manual type work. (eg; scaffolding, tiling, bricklaying, painting, warehousing, joinery, electrical)
Additional Information: Certification – All participants will gain their full CSCS card to enable access to site (SQA level 1 qualification and touch screen test). Additional industry tickets can also be achieved as outlined above in course content that relate directly to the construction industry.

Although TIGERS operate block intakes there is flexibility and scope for young people to be referred to programmes within first 2 weeks of start date.

Some work experience opportunities may be available for mechanics due to some ongoing employer contacts in the Renfrewshire area. Participants would not receive mechanics training within the training room but would gain practical skills when with employer.
