Programme Information and Referral CriteriaThis Lifeskills programme concentrates on supporting young people to develop skills for employment. It has been designed to enable young people the opportunity to participate in an informal training experience. The programme will provide young people with the chance to:
The programme is developed and facilitated by the Council’s Community Learning and Development staff in partnership with a local independent Hair Design specialist. This course has now been SCQF credit rated by the SQA and will give participants a more ‘formal’ qualification to take forward into training and/or employment. The course is now SCQF Level 5 and completion of all the units would gain candidates 12 SCQF credit points. The programme now covers the following 4 modules;
Please note: Participants under 16 will not be able to complete all aspects of Module 4 due to Young people will participate in a 20-26 week programme, (two half day sessions per week). The participants are required to commit to the full programme and will be able to present a portfolio of work to the appropriate awarding body. The criteria for selection to the programme include:
We are currently able to offer places to 10 young people on each course. We are able to meet with yourself and the young person to talk in more detail about the programme and expectations. |
