Strive into Employability

Background

Gillian is 24 years old and lives in Barrhead. She had been working as a receptionist for the past 3 years and had been out of work since the start of the year. She was really struggling to get interviews, and had been working with a member of the Work EastRen team to update her CV, when they told her about this new course that could really help her to get back into work.

This course has given me a lot more confidence and I know that I will get a job out of it

The Course

The STRIVE into Employability course, run by Work EastRen, aims to develop the skills and techniques required to help people to get into work and move on in their career. The courses consists of one to one and team building exercises to develop confidence, and improve skills in interviewing and presenting. Candidates also gain certificates in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety which are excellent to add to CVs.

The Future

This course has given Gillian not only the skills and qualifications to get a job in her chosen field, but it has also given her renewed confidence and belief in herself that she will be able to move forward and get a new job.
