East Renfrewshire Employability Awards 2019 are now open for nominations

Following on from the success of last year we are delighted to launch the third East Renfrewshire Employability Awards.

The event will celebrate the success of our local people who have been supported through the wide range of employability programmes being delivered in the area. Have you employed or trained someone in the past 12 months (November 18-November 19) who deserves special recognition or who has made a big difference to your organisation?

You can nominate someone in those relevant categories open to you as many times as you like, but you will need to fill out a separate form for each person you nominate.

Awards will be made across eight categories:

  • Work EastRen Best Trainee Award
  • East Renfrewshire Council Modern Apprentice of the Year Award
  • Development in Employability Award
  • Developing the Young Workforce Award
  • Family Firm Special Recognition Award
  • Foundation Apprentice of the Year Award
  • Most Promising New Employee Award
  • Most Promising New Entrepreneur Award

The deadline for nominations is Friday 11 October 2019.

The East Renfrewshire Employability Awards 2019 ceremony will be held in The Dalmeny Park Hotel, Barrhead on Thursday 07 November 2019, at 18:30-20:30.

This is your chance to nominate a trainee or employee who has shown the qualities necessary for building a better future and has invested their time, effort, skills and resources in East Renfrewshire.

Work EastRen Best Trainee Award For the Work EastRen client/trainee who deserves special recognition for their efforts, attitude to progression and quality of work.

Nominees must have been supported through Work EastRen and Employability programmes.

East Renfrewshire Council Modern Apprentice of the Year For the Modern Apprentice who has thrived in their new role, developed their core skills and shown initiative and potential through the practical and theoretical elements of their apprenticeship. East Renfrewshire Council Modern Apprentice Supervisors only
Category Criteria Who can nominate?
Development in Employability Award For the person with stand-out commitment to training and development. We are looking for someone who has learned new skills, taken on more challenging tasks, and progressed within the workplace, training or volunteering. All employability partners

 

Category Criteria Who can nominate?
Developing the Young Workforce Award For the young person who has shown drive, commitment and enterprise to move onto self-employment, employment or further/higher education. East Renfrewshire Council Education Department, Skills Development Scotland and DYW West

 

Category Criteria Who can nominate?
Family Firm Special Recognition Award For the Family Firm client who has demonstrated commitment to move onto self-employment, employment or further/higher education. This award also recognises their efforts and attitude to progression. East Renfrewshire Council Economic Development and Regeneration, Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)
Category Criteria Who can nominate?
Foundation Apprentice of the Year Award For the school pupil who has thrived in their new role, developed their core skills and shown initiative and potential through the practical and theoretical elements of their apprenticeship. This award recognises that preparation for employment starts at school and rewards young people’s commitment to building skills and experiences for their future career. Category Criteria Who can nominate?
Most Promising New Employee Award The award recognises an individual with the talent and attitude to go on to bigger and better things. Nominees should be East Renfrewshire residents and previously have been unemployed and started in their job in the past two years. All local employers

If your nominee is shortlisted for an award we would like to do a short video (30 secs max.) with you and give you the opportunity to say why you think your colleague deserves the award.
